Jamie Vardy Leicester CityLiverpool travel to Leicester with the intention of getting the three points in order to keep up with the top teams of the Premier League and to try to aggravate the crisis of the Foxes after the dismissal of Claudio Ranieri as manager of Leicester City.

Liverpool will close Premier League’s matchday 26th at King Power Stadium this Monday against Leicester City. The Foxes have been in the eye of the storm all week due to the dismissal of Ranieri.

Most fans felt uncomfortable with the dismissal of Rainieri as the Italian became the most important coach in the history of the club last season, but this season its performance has been very different. The club has come down to earth after shocking the world last year as they became champions of the Premier League. This year they are struggling to stay away from the relegation zone even though they have reached the UEFA Champions League round of 16.

Save the season

Leicester City had to do something to save their season because the poor performances kept coming despite the fact that the players had stated publicly several times that they still supported Rainieri.

For now, the interim coach will be Craig Shakespeare as the club decides who should replace Rainieri. His first challenge will be Jurgen Klopp’s tough squad. The Foxes also have to prepare their UEFA Champions League match against Spanish side Sevilla.

Leicester received some good news as they were told that Islam Slimani and Leo Ulloa have  recovered from injuries and will be ready to play against Liverpool.

On the other hand, after a few weeks stalled in poor results, Liverpool managed to win their most recent game, a home match against Tottenham. The 2-0 win was a vital result against a direct rival, as the boys from Anfield try to secure a UEFA Champions League position in the Premiere Legue.

Liverpool defeated the Foxes 4-1 the first time they met this season at Anfield on September 2016. However, Leicester defeated Klopp’s squad at King Power Stadium a little over a year ago when they won 2-0.
