Many people are planning on rooting in favor of the Giants to repeat. After all, they managed to crush the Patriots and win last year’s Super Bowl, so why shouldn’t they do it again? Well, one reason is the fact that they’ll be in a division with some strong contenders: the Cowboys, the Eagles, and the Redskins. Plus, they’ve lost stellar running back Brandon Jacobs. This doesn’t mean, for sure, that they’ll blow it and not make the Superbowl, but they definitely shouldn’t be counted on too faithfully.

The Steelers are another team that doesn’t have a huge shot at winning the big game. This aging team needs a grade A draft badly to have any hope. Right now, it’s greatly overshadowed by the Ravens. If the Ravens are able to make a few necessary adjustments, they could find themselves in the Super Bowl for the first time in over ten years! Ray Lewis seems desperate for this to happen, and all that seems to be missing is a solid deep threat.

We all know that people are abuzz about the Denver Broncos and their addition of Peyton Manning, who replaced Tim Tebow. Tebow, in turn, went on to the New York Jets. The Broncos have a strong offense and defense, but no one is quite sure whether Manning will live up to his name and “man up.” It really is resting all on him and how he does. No matter what, though, this team will remain a strong contender.

The Houston Texans significantly lowered their chances of winning the Super Bowl by losing Mario Williams to free agency. Despite that, the team does still have its good points and even managed to win a playoff game without Williams last season. Matt Schaub will need to stick around and be at his best, but if he does, the Texans could make a great value pick.

This brings us to the Eagles, who might have a small shot, but it all lies on the shoulders of Michael Vick. He is going to have to be careful and make it through the entire season for the team to have a fighting chance. With that said, the Eagles’ have a great offense and might just be able to win the whole thing.

Another small but not non-existent shot at the championship goes to the San Francisco 49ers. Sure, they didn’t land Peyton Manning, but they still have great defense and special teams. Plus, their offense has slowly been getting better with the addition of Randy Moss.
