NFL Condones Suh Outrage, Again

by admin on Thursday, November 29th, 2012

Ndamukong SuhFinally, an NFL player had the “cojones” to come out publicly condemning the absurd behavior of Ndamukong Suh.  Too bad it took an actual kick to the “cojones” to provoke the reaction.  Thank you Matt Schaub.

CBS.com wrote on Monday morning, “Suh’s suspension would not be a surprise”, but that did not happen, again.  On Monday afternoon NFL spokesman Greg Aiello tweeted “Our office has notified the Lions that N Suh will not be suspended for last Thursday’s incident.  It will be reviewed for a potential fine”.

After witnessing yet another insult to sportsmanship from Detroit Lions Defensive Tackle Ndamukong Su, many sports fans wondered how much dirtier Suh’s reputation could get and what kind of punishment he might receive from the NFL. Now we have the answer. As for punishment, not much at all.  Not even a slap on the wrist.  Not even the slightest public condemnation for this abominable action.  They might fine him, big deal.  Fine a sports millionaire what amounts to “chump change’ for him.  Surely, that will get his attention when Goddell and Aiello don’t even say “bad boy, Suh”.  Great example for the rest of the league from the commissioner’s office.

Even a cursory review of the play reveals a motion from Suh that does not appear within the bounds of what is normally seen on a football field.  Suh was suspended for stomping on an opponent during a Thanksgiving game in 2011.
Many folks around the NFL think the Lions’ Ndamukong Suh is a dirty player, but hardly anyone will put their name to that idea.

Well, Texans quarterback Matt Schaub just did.

Schaub, whose groin had a run-in with Suh’s foot on Thanksgiving,

said that Suh is “not Houston Texan worthy.” When asked if he’d want Suh as a teammate, said “no.” You don’t want a player like that. The stuff that he stands for and the type of player he is, he is not worthy of playing in the NFL.

Aiello’s announcement keeps him on the field against the Colts this week and obviously that’s great news for the Lions.  Not such great news for Andrew Luck or the other NFL quarterbacks that this guy will be out to maul for the remainder of the season.  What will it take before they finally decide that this guy should be employed in something like cage wrestling, not professional football.
