Bookmakers Love New Proposed Changes by the NFL

by admin on Thursday, May 29th, 2014

Proud BookieBookies love the fact that the NFL is considering adding two more teams to the NFL playoff platform. For both offshore bookies, bettors and the NFL more games means more opportunities to make more money!

The overall expansion of the playoffs would be pretty simple and are on pace to become a reality in 2015. The new plan would increase the current number of NFL teams to make the playoff from 12 to 14. The majority NFL owners and league reps are embracing the proposed changes mostly from a revenue standpoint. For bookies it is the same more games means more betting opportunities.  For avid NFL fans it is another chance to see their favorite teams play in or sneak into the playoff picture.

If the proposed system was already in place just last year the St. Louis Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers would have been instant beneficiaries and would have been part of last year’s playoff picture. This is hands down a winner for all involved with no real downside.

Other proposed changes that have passed and will go into effect this season are:

Player protection rule that protect players from injuries due to getting the sides of their legs rolled up on. The previous rule stated that a blocker can’t hit an opponent in the back of the legs the addition to this will add or side of leg.

Another rule change will allow the on-field referee to communicate with the NFL officiating department during replays. This allows the referred to speak with the NFL command control center in New York to help with reviewing a play.

Another change is that the timekeeper won’t stop the clock on a sack.

Its seems every year the NFL gets more competitive and safer for all involved!
