Hunt And Gurley Compete For The Spotlight As Rams Host Chiefs

chiefs at rams 2018Two of the best teams in the NFL meet in Week 11 as the 9-1 Los Angeles Rams and the 9-1 Kansas City Chiefs clash at the Memorial Coliseum in what can be dubbed the game of the season.

This potential Super Bowl preview will feature two of the league’s best running backs in the Rams’ Todd Gurley and the Chiefs’ Kareem Hunt.

Hunt is more than just a great running back as he’s become a do-it-all playmaker that can pull great runs in any given play and contribute in the passing game.

Having such a formidable weapon in the backfield allows the Chiefs to take great advantage of deceptive screens, which they use to score from anywhere on the field.

The Rams should not, however, forget about his running skills as his ability at turning the corner is lethal. It’s simply amazing that a guy his size can turn and show the speed and burst that he does.

Although his acceleration and elusiveness allow him to score from anywhere, his ability to quickly hit the gaps and break tackles make him extremely dangerous when inside the red zone.

Furthermore, Hunt doesn’t shy away from the action when it’s time to grind and take the action to the trenches as he can also run inside the hash marks thanks to his tackle-breaking ability, strong legs, and great instincts to find the end zone.

But don’t expect Gurley, the catalyst for the Rams offense, to allow Hunt to steal the spotlight on his home turf as he also has the talent to impact this game in so many different ways.

When the Rams are on offense, they will resort to Gurley’s speed and ability to hit hard angles to keep the chains moving.

Gurley can use more than raw speed to leave defenders behind as he can also produce jaw-dropping slashing runs thanks to his great vision, ability to cut back and elusive running style that make him so hard to get a grip on and take down.

Of course, Gurley’s versatility makes him a very valuable asset that can excel in passing plays as the Rams have the to the ability to flex him out and use him on vertical routes from the slot.

Look for Gurley to have a bigger role this week as the Rams involve him more in the passing game due to the loss of wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who suffered a season-ending injury when he tore his ACL in last week’s win over the Seattle Seahawks.
