NFL Preseason Wagering In Week Two

NFL Preseason 2013The NFL Preseason games aka Exhibition games saw their second week of action with 16 games played over 5 days.  To football fans and bettors it was a refreshing weekend after the long summer drought of no football.

Kicking off the second week of the preseason action the Cleveland Browns (-1.5 -105) hosted the Detroit Lions (+1.5 -115) with an O&U at 42.5  (-110 O/U).  In the end it was the favorite and the under as the Browns defeated the Lions by a final score of 24-6.

The Atlanta Falcons (+4.5) traveled to Baltimore to take on the world champion Ravens (-4.5) where the O&U was listed at 41.5 (-110 O/U). The Over won the day as the defending champs rallied in the fourth quarter with 20 points in a come from behind victory over the Falcons by a score of 27-23.

The Carolina Panthers (+3 even) went up to Philadelphia to test the Eagles (-3 -120).  The totals on the game were 44 (-110 O/U). Under bettors won the day in a low scoring game won by the Eagles 14-9.

The San Diego Chargers (+6) traveled all the way to Chicago to do battle with the Bears (-6) and their new coach Marc Trestman. The O&U was set at a low 37.5 (-110 O/U). In what turned out to be the most exciting game of the day, the Bears finally beat the Chargers in the fourth quarter by a final score of 33-28.  Once again, the Over bettors took the win.

Bovada listed the Patriots as three point favorites to win the match against Tampa Bay (O&U 41) even after taking the game off the board after watching the film clip on Tom Brady going down holding his knee.  As it turned out Brady’s knee was fine and the Patriots won the contest 25-21.

The Vikings of Minnesota (+3.5) went to Buffalo to play the Bills (-3.5) and their rookie quarterback EJ Manuel. The O&U was 43.  Manuel won the job and Buffalo won the game by a final score of 20-16.

The New Orleans Saints (-6) played host to the Oakland Raiders (+6) in the Superdome down in the Big Easy. The O&U was 42.5.  The Saints and the Over took this one with a final score of 28-20.

And finally, The San Francisco 49ers (+3) found themselves in the unusual position as the underdogs when they went to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs (-3).  O&U at 40. The 49ers came away with a close one winning by a final score of 15-13.
