The Worst Defenses In The NFL Part 2

by admin on Friday, September 18th, 2015

NFL LogoContinuing the prediction for what might be the worst defenses for the season despite having clear goals for their teams, or not having changed anything at all from previous years, we list the defenses lacking in stopping power and talent.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The offseason losses were several and the team has not done much to fill those gaps, in fact, the first draft pick for the defensive squad was addressed in the fourth round. Defensive end Adrian Clayborn is gone and also the safety Dashon Goldson, who perhaps is not as painful as the starting lineman, but the names that Tampa have to take Goldson’s place are unimpressive. However the biggest problem with the team is pressuring the quarterback. Possible starters as defensive ends, Jacquies Smith and George Johnson with a combined average of 12.5 sacks and although Gerald McCoy is one of the best in his position, but it is impossible that he can bring enough heat all by himself.

Chicago Bears

Following the disaster made by Marc Trestman will be quite difficult to undo in a single year. The arrival of defensive coordinator Vic Fangio was a first step towards their goal, but not enough, despite his talent to build the defensive, it requires raw talent to transform the group and there is little of that in Chicago. The Bears will have a 3-4 formation for the first time in the franchise’s history, it will be interesting to see how and in what way the veterans Radcliff and Jared Allen  adjust, the secondary is suffering from flaws, Kyle Fuller had a good rookie season, and he might be the best thing in this defense, but the safeties and the other corner are not very reliable.

Oakland Raiders

The efforts to reform the franchise are clear, but the raiders still have one of the worst defenses since the 2014 season and 2015 Raiders are far from stepping up, they did decided to find someone to help their young quarterback, Amari Cooper certainly will help, but that places further doubt on the other side of the ball. The combination of veterans that cannot give 100% anymore and young talent that have not yet proven their worth, the future is not promising for the Raiders. squad, outside of Charles Woodson, who is not getting any younger, their secondary is still a disaster, the assumption that Oakland hardly be able to keep up with the rest of the league and will probably have the worst defense in the NFL this year.
