Lessons Learned on NFL Week 1, 2015 Part 4

NFL LogoDenver 19, Baltimore 13

The Broncos won by an interception return and the defense in general, not Peyton Manning. his arm still looks very weak, and is losing accuracy. The formula for Denver to win will be to run the ball effectively, play good defense and risk the football less. the chances for this team are slim.

Baltimore’s offense has to evolve. Flacco made many mistakes, Forte was not the same (plus they did not use it in the same way as last year), and their receivers were nowhere to be found. And with the loss of Suggs for the year, the offense will have to raise their level even further, an interesting challenge for Marc Trestman.

Giants 26, Cowboys 27

Tony Romo managed to win the game without Dez Bryant and without DeMarco Murray same as last year. We have to give him a lot of credit for that. Last year the running game took away a lot of pressure off and we’ll see if this year if he will able to get by without star running back with him.

The Giants’ defense is one of the worst in the league, and the Giants defense double and triple covered, aided by last year’s tape it will be difficult for the team to succeed. They need Victor Cruz return from his injury to take pressure off the rest of the offense.

Falcons 26, Eagles 24

The Falcons were much better than expected, Coleman has great potential to be a successful runner and Vic Beasley helped pressure the rival quarterback.

The Eagles proclaimed to have a quick and timely offense. Very few times we saw that philosophy in play this game, and one reason for that is that Bradford is still not in a regular season pace.

49ers 20, Vikings 3

The Niners’ defense was even better than last year at some points. with Bowman as a leader, all the young players around him are motivated, eager and well coached. On offense, Hyde is the star, and will be the most important piece for them.

The Vikings played without drive, a mediocre level. Bridgewater could not save the high rate at which it ended last year, and Peterson has to collect more plays and carries to become again what it has always been. The hype around this team still has not been equaled in reality.
